The Eight Major Directions of Vastu Shastra and The Effects of Planets

According to Astrology all the planets have their good or bad effects on the life of a man. This is as true as sunlight.

There are ebbs and tides in the sea due to the power of attraction and repulsion of the moon. The effects of the planets are observed on living as well as non-living objects. A man has to see many ups and downs when the stars are not in a favorable position. These stars affect the structure also. Just as every person has a fortune, every non-living object also has a fortune. A stone is used for making the idol of a God another is used for the stairs of the temple. This proves that inanimate objects too have a fortune. When any structure is raised as per the principles of Vastu Shastra the effect of inauspicious stars is not felt to that extent.

There are eight major directions. Each direction is ruled by different star. They affect those directions.

Significance of Eight Directions:

As per the science of Vasthu all the directions have eight directions have their own respective influences on the human beings.

(l) East is called the paternal side. If the vacant space in east is covered completely the house becomes maless property ie, the male head of the family would die.

(2) South-East (Agneya) begets health.

(3) South  brings prosperity, happiness and tranquility.

(4) South-West (Nairuthi) is responsible for attitude, behavior and mortality.

(5) West brings progress, pomp & pride.

(6) North-West (Vayuvya) governs relations with others which may vary from cordiality to hostility.

(7)North is the maternal side. If it is not kept vacant the house will become a desert due to female mortality and remains as a house without a female member.

(8) North-East (Eesanya) ensures continuity of lineage though able male progeny, In case the northeast is cut off there can be no male children in the family, even though abundant wealth prevails.
