Vastu for Bathroom

Positions of Bathroom:

Best position: East,
Second alternative: South,
Third alternative: North-West,
Not advisable: North-East & South-West
Person taking Bath to face East.

Bathrooms are constructed generally in three ways viz., adjuncts to the main house outside the house, as attached bathrooms to the bedrooms, and as common bathrooms inside the house.
The common bath rooms provided inside the house, should be built in eastern or northern rooms. Attached bathrooms can be built towards east or north of the bedrooms. However, in case of two parallel bedrooms, bathrooms located at the center, may fall towards north in respect of southern bedroom and towards south, in respect of northern bedroom.

Bathrooms can also be constructed in northeast, duly ensuring, that the north-eastern corner is not closed. It should also be ensured that hearth or boiler should not be placed in the north-eastern corner of the bathrooms. They may be placed in the south-eastern corner. However, no restriction is there in respect of electric heater or geyser.

If a bathroom is proposed to be provided, in the front yard of an east facing house, the same may be built in the south-eastern corner towards the eastern side of the house, away from the house duly ensuring that the bathroom falls in line with the main house. Further the inter-space between the main house and the bathroom, should be less, than the inter-space between the bathroom and the compound wall. If that house has enough space in west sloping projection may be constructed right on western pound wall, with roof sloping towards east and the bath room can be constructed in it.

In respect of a house facing south, bathroom can be constructed outside in the back yard in north-western corner in line with, but away from the main house, duly ensuring that the inter-space between the main house and the bathroom is less than the inter-space between northern compound wall and the bathroom. Above methodology holds good even in respect of a bathroom in eastern southeast.
In case of houses facing west, back yard bathrooms may be built in east, based upon the principles, applicable in respect of houses facing east. If a bathroom is proposed to be built in north same may be built in northwest as in the case of a house facing south.

In respect of houses facing north, in eastward area, bathrooms in southeast, should be modeled on the analogy of houses facing east. Alternatively bathrooms can be provided in front yard in northern northwest, based upon the analogy of bathrooms in a house facing south. If vacant space is available in south, a bathroom may be built under the slanting roof, based on raised compound wall in south.
