Vastu for Bedroom

Positions for Bedroom:

South-West: Master Bedroom- Best,
West: Good,
South: Good,
North-West:  Allowed,
North & East: Not Advisable,
North-East: Forbidden.

The nature blessed us and all the creatures with rest/sleep. Hence the bedroom is the Heart of the House" for Man, the Paradise on Earth, for peace of mind, soul and body as we spend most of the time, out of our stay at home.

Southwest is the most beneficent, in all the eight directions. Master bedroom of a house must be provided invariably in southwest. It can be provided in southeast, northwest and northeast. Generally the eldest sleeps in south western room, the elderly, in south-eastern room, the n
north western room. In north-eastern room only the children should sleep; not the couple. The bed in the bedroom should be laid in such a way that the vacant space should be more towards east and north. Bedroom in east causes ill health. Bedroom in south keeps up good health. Bedroom in north results in financial losses. Bedroom in west gives peaceful & prosperous life. People like to have a cool bedroom but it should have 60o F to 65oF (15oC to 20o C ) of temperature; as it is scientifically proved that coolness is injurious to health. One should not sleep with wet feet, advised Varaha Mihira.

Lying positions on Beds:

Beds go to the South-West corner of the rooms. Head towards South and leg towards North is advised for adults and elders. Head towards East and leg towards West for Students. Let us see the reason behind this. The magnetic axis of the earth is in North-South directions with the magnetic North somewhere near the Geographic South Pole. The Human body contains Iron in the form of Hemoglobin. It is observed that an Iron rod left hanging in North-South direction gets magnetized due to Earth's magnetic field. From the studies conducted by various medical organizations it is found that lying with head towards South position relaxes the body completely and helps sound sleep.
For students because of their age naturally they sleep well. However, the memory retention capacity is important for them. Head towards East helps in a sharp intellect and retention of what they have learnt. For the elders who carry their worries and tensions to bed, freedom from worries is essential and the South head position is found more suitable for this purpose.
